House of Fisher are pleased to introduce Sam Guze as our Area Sales Executive. Sam brings eight year’s experience within the Thames Valley property sector. As Area Sales Executive, Sam is responsible for our portfolio of aparthotels and serviced apartments in Newbury, Basingstoke, Farnborough and Camberley.
Today, we have interviewed Sam to gain an insight into the person behind the position
1 / Q. What attracted you to the position of Area Sales Executive and House of Fisher as a company?
A. This opportunity is really exciting for me as I will be able to work for one of the leading accommodation providers in the Thames Valley area. I did my research on the company and I was really impressed with their brand and the reputation they have built up within the industry. Not only this, but with the way they treat their employees. I have a friend who works here and he just raves about how he is treated and how the company feels like a family. I wanted to be a part of that.
2 / Q. What could a prospective client expect when they meet you?
A. A prospective client will come to me because they need my help. Therefore, the most important thing for me is to be prepared. I will find out the relevant information and service that client is looking for and recommend a product that is exactly what they need. I’m very personable when speaking with clients which I feel will help them make the right choice and I will offer them continued support throughout our relationship.
3 / Q. How did you find your first day at House of Fisher and what was particularly memorable?
A. As it was my first day, I dressed my best and got there extra early as I wanted to make a good first impression. I just remember everyone making an effort to say hello to me and get to know me from the get go. It gave me a good feeling on my first day – that real ‘family’ feeling. They showed me around the Reading and Basingstoke apartments and I was highly impressed. Thankfully, I didn’t get lost in a corridor or park in the wrong space, so I don’t have anything memorable to shout about really!
4 / Q. What do you feel you will bring to House of Fisher?
A. I’ve spent the past 8 years working in a sales environment, which is the main focus of this role too. I feel I can help the team increase sales and continue to deliver an amazing level of customer service to our clients. I also love being part of a collaborative, team oriented environment, which is a major part of the culture here so that’s another positive that I feel I bring to the team.
5 / Q. Your background is within the property sector, how aligned is this to the Serviced Apartment and Aparthotel sector?
A. They are both fast paced environments and you are speaking and meeting new people every day. It’s always important to look after your product so first impressions are key at all times.
6 / Q. House of Fisher operates close to 200 Serviced Apartments in 9 locations across the Thames Valley area. Which locations and properties are you responsible for?
A. I am covering the M3 territory – Basingstoke (Central Point), Farnborough (Equinox and Solstice Place), Camberley (Central House) and Newbury (Central Gate). I worked in Newbury for several years, so I know the area well. I have been visiting the other three areas constantly in my first couple of weeks and they are great locations. I am really pleased with the buildings as well – spacious, modern and central.
7 / Q. House of Fisher is regarded as a young, enthusiastic and motivational place to work. How have you found the team and environment since starting?
A. They have been amazing with me. They are serious people but you can have some banter with them too (in the right moments). I would like to give a special shout out to Alex, as I’ve joined his team and he has been approachable from day one.
8 / Q. When you aren’t being an Area Sales Executive for House of Fisher, what are you likely to be doing?
A. I love playing and watching football. I am a big Arsenal fan and I’m not embarrassed to say that out loud anymore haha! When I’m not playing football myself I try to go to as many Arsenal games as possible. At home, I enjoy spending time with my girlfriend and my dog – she keeps me on my toes!
9 / Q. Which is your favourite House of Fisher Serviced Apartment and why?
A. I like them all but if I had to pick one I would go for Solstice in Farnborough. A modern spacious apartment that I could really see myself staying there for a long period of time and feeling really comfortable. Obviously, Reading is up there too. The location is fantastic!
10 / Q. There is lots of healthy competition amongst the team. Are you planning on joining the Fitbit group and joining the weekly challenges?
A. Yes, I’m definitely going to give it a go. I enjoy anything that brings the team together and continues to build the good rapport we have here. I have been playing sports since I was young so I can be really competitive. I am in it to win it 🙂
