House of Fisher were invited to participate in the Reading Climate Festival at an event hosted at the Roseate Hotel, entitled ‘Moving Towards a Greener Town Centre’.
The event was hosted by Reading Climate Action Network and was supported by REDA, The BID and The Great Big Green week. The event was created to discuss the initiatives already in place and Reading BID’s work with Beyond Procurement on green energy audits with local businesses.
Our Managing Director, Trine Oestergaard Stafford, spoke at the event about our Net Zero report, created in partnership with Beyond Procurement, as a case study.
The strategic report gave us a clear view of how much carbon is emitted within Scopes 1 & 2 of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, along with an action plan for reducing or removing them.
Through their analysis, House of Fisher has a benchmark of where we sit in terms of carbon usage and can actively try to improve our performance further. From the outset, it’s great to see we are already performing well against others.
Trine also discussed our company’s green journey, the report and our future sustainability plans. Our goal as a company is to get more businesses involved, encourage them to follow House of Fisher’s green footsteps and to take a greener approach to business in the future.
Our greener and more sustainable journey has been highly successful, which is why we were awarded the ECOsmart Accreditation by Greengage in January 2022, which has since been upgraded (announcement due soon) to reflect our continued improvements this year.
