Reading has recently been added to the official Transport for London (TFL), underground map, with the introduction of the Crossrail/Elizabeth line. This is a reflection of its close proximity and TFL running trains from Reading into London. Never has staying in Reading been a more attractive proposition, with easier than ever access to London and Heathrow via these superb transport links. Reading UK research recently found that 75% of millennials in South East UK would consider relocating to Reading for work.

Kings Road sits nicely on the Reading bus route, perfect for travelling to nearby workplaces, of which there are many. Reading has for years invested significantly into a strong public transport infrastructure, with buses having priority, exclusive lanes and routes, making them the choice of transport for many residents. Reading BID was approved and introduced in 2014 for an initial five-year contract. It was such a success that local businesses (who contribute to the scheme) voted by a landslide to approve the new scheme running from 2019 until 2024. The BID covers two main areas, recently including Kings Road and the Abbey ruins. Over the next five years, £557,000 will be invested in the promotion and support of Reading and its businesses.

Reading is forecasted to be the fastest growing city/town in the UK with 2.3% Gross Value Added growth per year over the period 2018-2021 (source: EY’s UK Region and City Economic Forecast).
