Having embarked on leadership training from October 2017, we are delighted to announce the House of Fisher management team are now over half way through the programme. We enlisted the support of the experts from the award-winning ‘Apex Training and Development’ team, who are delivering a tailored four module programme.

Reinvestment in our teams

As an organisation House of Fisher have a strong belief in staff development and training, consistently reinvesting into our teams. As a result, our employees grow, learn new skills and have the right tools to provide excellent employee and customer experiences.

The two modules within the leadership programme that have been completed to date, are:

  • Focus on Leadership: Building teams, developing individuals and effective teams, whilst flexing our approach to continuously motivate and support
  • Focus on Performance: Structuring reviews and improve team performance, whilst giving constructive feedback and delegate to develop

To complete the training our employees engage in a blend of onsite day training, practical engagement and online action plans. Following the completion of two modules, House of Fisher received the results, with each successful completion being awarded by an external accreditation, City & Guilds, with a Pass, Merit or Distinction.

The awards ceremony

In true House of Fisher style, we held a companywide, internal awards ceremony on Wednesday 23rd May where the eight participants received their results. Each award was presented by Managing Director Trine Oestergaard and trophies by House of Fisher Chairman, John Fisher.

…drumroll, please…

The fantastic results were:

  • 7 x Distinctions
  • 8 x Merits
  • 1 x Pass

A special mention was given to our Head of Business Development Aneal Sadiq and Senior Reservations Executive Edd Ransom-Coventry for achieving distinctions in both modules.

Aneal commented “The style and approach of the course has been fantastic. I have particularly enjoyed the hands on tuition within a fun, engaging learning environment from which, you can leave and immediately integrate and apply what you have learned to your daily workings. As a result, I have further refined my management approach, through greater awareness and understanding of my leadership style. The positive improvements I have implemented through new techniques are felt by both myself and my team. As a result, we have experienced tangible, positive outcomes both within our department and across the business as a whole.”

These fantastic results were greeted with a huge congratulations and rounds of applause, which these eight valuable team members deserved! All attendees enjoyed the ceremony and celebrations, with lots of fun and laughter, accompanied by a fine selection of food and drinks.

Leadership Course Next Stages

The leadership team are working hard on completing module three, with module four starting in June! We wish all eight participants the best of luck with the remaining modules and continued implementation of their learnings.
