Thanks to the momentous Crossrail project, towns in the Thames Valley including Reading and Maidenhead are now far more accessible from Heathrow, and getting to and from London.
Improved train stations in places such as Farringdon, Whitechapel and Tottenham Court Road mean new signs, help points, lifts, footbridges and spacious ticket halls, all making train journeys significantly easier. Electrification of the railway results in more frequent, reliable and faster trains, yet again improving the convenience of travelling. So no more cramped, slow train journeys before and after a hard day’s work!
Finally you can experience further benefits by 2019, when Reading and Maidenhead stations will go to further destinations directly, meaning Paddington won’t be the final and only London station to go to, but now having the option of staying on a train which automatically becomes part of the London Underground. This will provide the commuter with the option of going as far as East London and even the Docklands. There will be two Elizabeth line trains running every hour from Reading and four trains running every hour from Maidenhead, which is a great improvement to the current timetable.
