Painter and Decorator

House of Fisher is a successful, expanding company in the emerging serviced-apartment/apart-hotel market providing flexible-stay accommodation for the corporate sector. We are the largest operator of premium serviced apartments in Berkshire and the South East.

Reporting to the Head of Maintenance you will responsible for painting and decorating the House of Fisher portfolio over 13 sites, totalling almost 200 apartments within a 30-mile radius of Reading. This is a junior role therefore scope to progress and develop within House of Fisher.


Day-to-day responsibilities: 

Apply paint to furniture and structures

Examine and maintain painted exterior and interior surfaces.

Fill walls and apply silicon applications to baths, showers and sinks

Read blueprints and drawings of the premise for the execution of painting job

Maintain a comprehensive database of paint codes and colours

Manage paint supplies and materials

Assist the maintenance team with ad hoc duties


Personal Specification

Excellent eye for detail and perfectionist attitude

Experience in multiple locations would be a distinct advantage

Organised with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively

Work under pressure and meet deadlines

Strong customer service ethic and customer facing skills

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

Confident with interacting effectively and professionally with both colleagues and clients at all levels.

A full driving licence is essential for this role.

This role is 40 hours per week over five days and may include some weekend work; flexibility in working pattern will be required.

Night shift Guest Services coordinator

Our apart-hotel at 100 Kings Road in Reading offers a reception desk providing guest services across the whole portfolio 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Due to internal promotion we are seeking to recruit a Guest Services Night Coordinator. Shifts are between the hours of 11:00 pm and 7:30 am.

This would ideally suit someone with customer or guest services experience and strong administration skills. Previous work experience within the hotel or hospitality industry is desirable but not essential, although an ability to create a 5* guest experience is important.

The successful candidate will be required to assess guest requirements and make experienced judgements to put solutions in place. Excellent communication skills are essential and a high level of written and spoken English are expected. Experience with working with a PMS system, eg Opera or Protel would be an advantage but full training will be provided.
